The Investigation and Disciplinary Committee considers allegations against senior council officers, including the Chief Executive, Section 151 Officer, and Monitoring Officer. It decides if further investigation is needed, if disciplinary action short of dismissal should be taken, or if dismissal is recommended. The committee's decisions can ultimately lead to an officer's dismissal. It comprises three councillors, including at least one Executive member, and members with conflicts of interest can appoint substitutes.
