About

The Overview and Scrutiny Commission examines the Council's policies, budget, and service delivery, providing advice to the Cabinet and the Council as a whole. It allows citizens to influence Council matters through public inquiries into local concerns. The Commission selects its work programme from upcoming reports or member-requested issues, leading to reports and recommendations. It also has the power to 'call-in' Executive decisions before they are implemented, potentially recommending reconsideration.
