Purpose

Authorisation to release funds from the Communities
Transport Grant Scheme - March 2025.

Decision

That the following- 4 Transport grant awards of £500 each
are approved.

Community Action Norfolk - £500
The funding would be used to directly fund short
trips for the individuals CAN are supporting through their social
isolation and loneliness support project. The project supports
individuals to access their community, provides them with
information, encouragement and direct 1-2-1 support to join groups
and activities to improve their wellbeing and reduce their
loneliness and isolation. The funding would also be used to
reimburse clients their bus or taxi fares to attend these groups
and activities, as well as directly reimbursing volunteers
befrienders who provide home visits to the clients, or who support
the clients to access the community by driving them to their
desired places.

Dereham Aid Centre -
£500
The funding would be used to help cover the fuel
costs to collect and deliver food, furniture, and other items to
the people the centre supports. It would also be used to get
service users to events and
appointments.

Mattishall Community Hub - £500
The funding would help with the occasional hire of
a mini-bus to collect and transport
small groups of people to our monthly sessions, particularly when
our programme includes special, useful information.
E.g. our May session with a guest speaker from CAN
aimed at supporting people affected by Cancer, or to other
community activities such as the Community Allotment Launch Day in
April (the allotments being at the opposite, far end of the
village)
We would also reimburse volunteers to transport
individuals who are, physically, isolated in the village and/or
need assistance to get to our social sessions.

Ovington Youth Club -
£500
The funding would support alternative transport
options to ensure that children who live further out of the village
where there are no streetlights are still able to
attend.

Total £2,000
