Purpose
Authorisation to Release Funds from the Communities Spark
Fund - July 2025
Decision
That the following 2
Spark fund grant awards totalling £1000 are approved:
Banham Village
Community Hub £500
To continue running the "Movement for
Wellbeing" group which started in September 2024, the initial
programme included 24 sessions with a total attendance of 267
people and 27 individuals. While the sessions are predominantly
attended by retired people, younger people with long standing
conditions such as ME are welcome to attend as well as those with
dementia, autism with their carers.
Saham Toney Garden
Allotment Association £500
To help support the continuation of the
community-led village allotment, it is 100% reliant on voluntary
support to provide 25 plots of varying sizes to suit growers of all
ages and abilities. Operating under sensible guidelines laid down
by the National Allotment Society. The aim is to provide an
environment where our growers can cultivate crops, fruit and
flowers. And garden ‘in
tune’ with our sometimes-challenging environment whilst being
sensitive to wildlife, the environment and the evolving needs of
our growers.
Reasons for the decision
To enhance existing provision,
which improves community health and wellbeing and aligns to the
Inspiring Communities Corporate Plan priorities. These activities
are not currently available in the local area or easily accessible
in a nearby Ward.
