Procurement of Domestic Food Waste Caddies

Decision

To award the contract to IPL
Schoeller for the provision of 7 and 23 litre containers

Reasons for the decision

The implementation of the
Simpler Recycling legislation requires waste collection authorities
to implement a household food waste collection.
 
Breckland Council will provide
an internal and external food waste container to all
properties.
 
As a new service the Council
needed to purchase containers for all households.
Following a procurement
process, the contract was awarded to IPL Schoeller, at a value of
£301,400.
 
Burdens funding to support the
implementation of the new service will be used to purchase the
containers.
