Purpose
Authorisation to Release Funds from the Inspiring
Communities Match Funding Grant Scheme - March 2026
Decision
That the following grant awards totalling
£20,500 are approved:
·
Creative Arts East: £5,000 - To run a series of
creative workshops for older people in Breckland.
·
Cup-O-T: Wellness and Therapy Services: £5,000 –
To deliver two Discovery Groups to complement the exam stress
workshops for students run in partnership with Wayland Academy.
·
Liberty Christian Family Centre Trust: £4,500
– To cover 25% of the staffing costs for Thetford Foodbank
Manager for a year.
·
The Wayland partnership Development Trust: £1,000
– To develop the sensory garden at Wayland House.
·
Thetford Boxing Club: £5,000 – Towards the rent
of the boxing club's premises.
Reasons for the decision
The recommended awards demonstrate their
alignment to the priorities of Breckland Council’s Inspiring
Communities programme and the Breckland Health and Wellbeing
partnership, whose outcomes are to enhance the health and wellbeing
of Breckland’s residents by reducing health inequalities.

Priorities:
To address vulnerability and work with the most
disadvantaged members of our communities to improve their life
chances, with a focus on:
Domestic abuse
Mental health
Social isolation and loneliness
Early intervention projects which prevent
escalation into crisis
Breckland Health and Wellbeing
Priorities:
To prevent cardiovascular disease
Improve mental health
Tackle issues arising from alcohol dependency and
other alcohol related concerns
These awards will be used to establish new or strengthen
existing community provision for care and support.
