Purpose
Dereham Leisure Centre Solar PV Roof
Installation: Decision to implement recommendation 2 from the
attached report.
Decision
A decision was made on
2.11.2023 at the meeting of Full Council to install solar PV on the
roof of Dereham, Leisure Centre and to allocate £120,000 from
growth & investment reservesto add to a £160,000 (from a
previous Breckland 2035 allocation for decarbonisation
implementations).As per recommendation 2 which reads
‘To delegate authority to accept the
terms and conditions of any future grant funding secured to
Executive Member for Waste, Environmental Health, Licensing and
Sustainability in consultation with the Executive Director as
officers continue to explore all funding
opportunities’ and was approved.
Officers have applied and been successful in an external funding
award process.
The successful award from Sport
England of £264,758.00 advised on 30 January 2024, for the
installation of Solar PV, plus shower restrictors. This award has
been embargoed by the grant funder until Saturday 23rd
March. The receipt of the funds allows for above to be returned to
their respective reserves.
To
accept the terms and conditions of the Swimming Pool Support Fund
Phase II Capital Offer from Sport England for the installation of
Solar PV and shower restrictors at Dereham Leisure Centre, value of
£264,758.00. The Council agrees to accept the grant and will
spend in accordance with the terms and conditions as set out by the
grant funder and in furtherance of the delivery of the work set out
in the attached report.
