Purpose

To enable the deployment of mobile cameras to
allow the Council to detect, deter and investigate environmental
crime offences and enhance safety in public places.

Decision

RESOLVED that the Draft Deployable
Mobile Surveillance Camera Policy contained at Appendix 1 to the
report be approved and implemented with immediate
effect.

Reasons for the decision

The deployment of mobile deployable cameras is
something new for Breckland.

·     
It is necessary for governance and
management.

·     
The policy will be published, so this is overt, open
and transparent

·     
Ensures this is implemented and managed in a fair,
consistent and proportionate way.

·     
This will help to reduce the risk of successful
challenge.

·     
Complies with good practice advice and
guidance.
