For members to endorse the Inspiring Communities programme.

Decision

RESOLVED that the Inspiring Communities Programme for April 2024 – 2027 be approved.

Reasons for the decision

The following outlines the reasons for the recommendation:

·             To meet the objectives of the Council’s Corporate Plan and deliver against the commitments of the Inspiring Communities theme.

·             Approving the Inspiring Communities programme will guarantee the sustained provision, and the introduction of services and initiatives that tackle health inequalities and support our most vulnerable residents.

·             The report authors believe that the recommended option provides the best option available to tackle health inequalities and support our most vulnerable residents.

Alternative options considered

Option 1: (recommended) Approve the Inspiring Communities programme for 2024 – 2027.

·             This option would empower the Council to maintain the Inspiring Communities programme and sustain its commitment to improving health outcomes for our most vulnerable residents.

Option 2: Do not endorse the Inspiring Communities programme for 2024 – 2027.

·             This option would mean ceasing the Inspiring Communities programme for 2024 – 2027.
