Authorisation to release funds from the Communities
Transport Grant Scheme - December 2023

Decision

That the following Transport grant award totalling £500 be
approved:
 
Dereham Cancer Care £500 -
To pay volunteers mileage and to pay for
taxis for volunteers and clients using the Centre or to get to
appointments. Dereham Cancer Care would work in partnership with
local taxi companies and develop an outreach project to outlying
villages and communities. The Centre has 30 Volunteers who are
restricted in reaching the outlining villages, the funding would
help enormously.

Reasons for the decision

The applicant has tailored
their proposed transport scheme to meet the needs that they have
identified in their area, which will serve to address the
historical gap in access to transport for residents.
 
These initiatives focus on
transport barriers in relation to connection into local community
activity, for improved health and well-being outcomes.
