Purpose

To consider the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026-2031 and Temporary Accommodation Policy for adoption.

Decision

RESOLVED that:

1. the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026-2031 be adopted
2. the Temporary Accommodation Policy be adopted.

Reasons for the decision

1.    To enable the Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026-2031 and Temporary Accommodation Policy to be adopted by the Council.

2.    To comply with the Housing Act 1996 (Part 7) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Alternative options considered

·         Do nothing (Not recommended). Under this option, the documents will not be adopted by the Council.

·         That Cabinet adopts the Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026-2031 and the Temporary Accommodation Policy. Under this option, these documents will be adopted by the Council.
