Purpose

Authorisation to release funds from the Breckland Communities Grants (Transport) – September 2026

Decision

That the following 3 Transport grant awards of £500 each are approved.

Iceni Partnership - £500 The funding will be used to reimburse volunteer fuel costs for transporting vulnerable residents to community activities and support sessions, helping those who may otherwise be unable to attend due to a lack of transport. The funding will also help cover travel expenses for Community Fridge volunteers who collect surplus food, ensuring the continued provision of low-cost food and support to local residents.

South Lopham Parish Council - £500 To support the Sip & Social Café by reimbursing volunteer transport costs for older residents who would otherwise struggle to attend. With no bus or taxi services available when the café operates, the funding will help reduce rural isolation and loneliness, particularly during the winter months.

Norfolk Accident Rescue Service - £500 NARSVolunteer responders are dispatched to serious medical emergencies where their skills and rapid response can provide valuable early intervention while the patient awaits further emergency care. Funding would be used to support the costs of our volunteer emergency response service, helping our responders reach people in need across Breckland.

Total £1,500
