Purpose

Transfer of public open space to Dereham Town
Council.

Decision

To approve the transfer of
public open space to Dereham Town Council at £Nil cost. This
transfer will include 3 sites, being those known as; Sandy Lane
Play Area, Girling Road Open Space and Becclesgate Open
Space.

Reasons for the decision

This transfer will
offload any maintenance costs and liability associated with this
land for the benefit of Breckland District Council and will hold
community value for Dereham Town Council. Dereham Town Council is
currently in the process of applying for planning permission to
enhance the play equipment on all 3 sites. 

Alternative options considered

1.   
To agree to the transfer of 3 sites of
public open space to Dereham Town Council.
 

2.   
To agree to the transfer of 1 of the
above-mentioned sites to Dereham Town Council whilst retaining the
other sites.
 

3.   
Do nothing.
