To request approval to vary the design and
build contract with The McAvoy Group for the Temporary SEND
School.

Content

That the Director for Property &
Assets:
 
i)            
Approves the variation to the Contract for the design and build
contract for the Temporary SEND School with The McAvoy Group by
£411,624.18.

Reasons for the decision

Following the initial contract award, there
has been changes to the scope of works and associated landscaping
to accommodate an additional 27 SEND places.

To this end, Officers are seeking approval to vary the contract to
agree to the costs to include these works within the
contract.

Alternative options considered

An alternative option would be for the Council
not to proceed with the additional works to provide 27 additional
places and procure under a separate contract. This has been
discounted as there would be significant delays and costs
associated with a new procurement exercise.
