Purpose

Following a Notice of Motion at Full Council
in December 2023, officers are submitting this report to provide an
update to the current gulley cleansing strategy that includes
changes to the service due to cost increases over the last 12
months.

Content

1)            
That Committee notes the
change in the cleansing regime in response to increased costs
within the industry as detailed in paragraphs 3.5 to 3.13 of this
report. 
 

2)            
That Committee notes the various factors that
contribute to surface water flooding and the mitigation that is in
place as set out in Appendix 1 of this report.
 

3)            
That Committee notes the drainage infrastructure
maintenance backlog of £1.25 million as detailed in paragraph
4.2 of this report.
