GR/HGW/Portway P&R Bus Access Improvements Main Civils Contractor
October 11, 2024 Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Currently the Portway Park and Ride Bus
Junction is set up to only serve buses as they travel to and from
the City Centre which is restrictive for bus service development to
Avonmouth and the north, as well as limiting for rail replacement
services and shuttlebus services for the proposed YTL Arena.
On 3 October 2023 Bristol City Council Cabinet made the decision to
approve a highways infrastructure project at the bus junction of
the Portway Park and Ride site, to widen the mouth of the junction
allowing the right turn into the site and the left turn out of the
site for buses, as well as some crossing and wayfinding
improvements.
In order to deliver the highway improvements, Bristol City Council
is in need of securing the support of a civil engineering
contractor which is the reason for this Officer Decision
Notice.
