Purpose

To establish a member task and finish
group which will support the development
of policy on how the council uses the
funds it has available to support low income
households.

The Committee RESOLVED (unanimous vote in
favour)
1. To note the report.
 
2. To approve the Terms of Reference for a
task and finish group on supporting low-income households; the
scope document to be amended as follows:
 
a. Add to ‘Purpose of
group/objectives’:
To consider the allocation of funding to these
schemes and any necessary savings as per steer from the Strategy
and Resources Committee Chair.
 
b. Add to ‘List of possible internal and
external contributors and key information
required’:
Key stakeholders as determined by the Task and
Finish group.
 
c. Amend ‘How long is the group’s
work expected to take?’ to read:
6 months. The group will need to be
in a position to determine
recommendations on Household Support Fund spend by the end of March
2025, and will then continue to consider other benefits, such as
the Council Tax Reduction Scheme.
