Full council record
Purpose

The decision is required as delegated
authority for the sexual and reproductive health clinical service
procurement exercise was granted in May 2022 under the cabinet
system. Bristol City Council now has a committee system and the
decision to award the contract to UHBW sits with the Director of
Public Health in consultation with the Executive Director of Adults
and Communities and the Section 151 Officer.

Content

The decision taken is to award a contract of 7
years’ duration, with the option to extend for a further 3
years, to UHBW for the provision of sexual and reproductive health
clinical services in Bristol, North Somerset and South
Gloucestershire.

Alternative options considered

The Most Suitable Provider process was
undertaken in line with the Provider Selection Regime. This was the
preferred procurement routing following a failed competitive tender
process under the Public Contracts Regulations.
