Purpose
Parenting in Diverse Communities (PiDC) has
been commissioned since 2013 in response to relatively low levels
of participation from diverse communities (particularly Black,
Asian, and Minoritised Ethnic communities) in parenting courses
offered by Bristol City Council.
PiDC is a universal 0-18 age group parenting course with a focus on
parents cultural values and the impact of this on their parenting.
The approach is intended to destigmatise parenting support for
parents who have not previously accessed parenting courses. This
approach has been shown through engagement and delivery to be
particularly valued by parents from Black, Asian, and Minoritised
Ethnic groups.
The current commissioned contract is due to end 31st March
2025.
Content
The decision taken was to procure this service
on a 2+1 year contract at £40,000 per annum starting 1st
April 2025.
