Decision is to Direct award to Powered Heating
Components Ltd (PHC) due to their value against the current market,
representing a 25-40% saving against market rates on core products,
as well as a 1% reduction on prices currently paid by BCC. There
are also additional savings that will be delivered during the
contract term through better basket control, banning the purchase
of non-core items, and following basket consolidation, the
introduction of Manufacturer Contract Supported Pricing
arrangements to further drive down costs. PHC are also opening an
additional site to support this contract, improving their coverage
of the city, reducing travel time and improving operative
availability and reducing carbon footprint. PHC will also work with
BCC to implement their Van-Stock solution for no additional charge
to improve operative ability to pre-order items, improving
collection times, as well as allowing the implementation of better
data management to allow BCC to tie material purchases to
individual jobs and better manage job-by-job costings for budget
management and forecasting.
