Purpose

Bristol City Council wishes to commission Fire
Compartmentation with Associated Asbestos Removal and Remedial
works to be carried out at flats at 64-98 and 69-91 Sheppard Road,
17-27 Ettricke Drive, and 2-30 Lanaway Road in Oldbury Court,
Bristol area of the city and require additional works to their fire
safety and asbestos removal to ensure residents safety. These works
were included in the Housing Investment Programme for
2023/24.

Approval to award fire safety compartmentation
works to be carried out at flats at 64-98 and 69-91 Sheppard Road,
17-27 Ettricke Drive, and 2-30 Lanaway Road in Oldbury Court,
Bristol. These works were included within the 2024/25 Housing
Investment Plan fire safety works, which was signed off by
committee on the 23/01/24, These works had an overall budget of
£2,125,000 for 2024/25.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - Housing Services manage dwellings
that require maintenance and improvement regimes to safeguard the
assets and its residents in the event of a fire. And to meet
current regulations in relation to fire protection within Bristol
City Councils buildings. Not carrying out these works is not a
viable option.
