Purpose

The Planning Skills Delivery Fund (PSDF), is
part of the Capacity and Capability Programme and will provide
£29 million over two years to local authorities to help with
the implementation of the proposed reforms in the Levelling Up and
Regeneration Bill. The funding will ensure that local authorities
are ready for change, and to provide support to help planning
services deal with a variety of issues in the current system. The
funding will help with the improvement of development management
services by clearing backlogs of planning applications, as well as
funding for addressing planning skills gaps.
