Alternative options considered
Option 1 - Using another professional
services: The Strategic Partner team were deemed as best fit as
they have been Principal Designer role during RIBA 2-4 Stages of
the Enabling Works and understand the complexities of the project
and the works delivery. The technical and commercial specialists
were involved during the procurement and offered continuity of
knowledge from the design stages.
If a professional services team was not commissioned to support
BCC, the Council would not have been able to resource and manage a
large project delivery team with the right expertise within the
programme timeframe, nor have the technical skills to correctly
manage the contractor during the works. The Strategic Partner
therefore added benefit both to programme and ensuring the best
outcome of the works contract to the Council.
