Community Resilience Fund: Reallocation of Capital Grants in Area 6
January 8, 2024 Executive Director: Adult & Communities (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
This decision follows from the Cabinet
decision taken on 8th February 2022 (item 12 February Cabinet
2022), which authorised the Executive Director for People in
consultation with Cabinet Member for Communities to invite
community and voluntary organisations to apply to the Community
Resilience Fund and to award grants necessary for the
implementation of capital projects in the Community and Voluntary
Sector
Content
To award Community Resilience Fund grants to
two organisations whose projects were selected as reserves,
following the application and decision making process. This is due
to three projects withdrawing from the process due to issues with
feasibility based on their timelines, lease arrangements as set out
in appendix A.
Recommendations have been reached through a participatory grant
making process which involved 100 members of the public and 25
Councillors. This process used deliberative democracy techniques to
help six area based groups and one equalities focused group reach
consensus about which projects they would recommend for funding.
This process delivered the ‘test and learn approach to
deliberative and participatory decision making with
communities’ approved at Cabinet.
This capital funding is available to be spent over three years from
1st April 2023 to 31st March 2026 to build the resilience of the
community and voluntary sector. All projects should be completed by
September 2025.
