Purpose

The purpose of this decision is to provide
authority to procure services from Great Western Credit Union to
deliver financial support in the form of interest free loans, as
well as recovery of those loans, to households at risk of, or
facing homelessness. This supports people into the Private Rented
Sector, and avoids the need for expensive temporary accommodation,
providing savings to the council on subsidy loss and improved
outcomes for households.

Approve the procurement of Great Western
Credit Union to deliver the financial support and recovery for up
to 4 years. Key decision fro Homes and Housing Delivery committee
on 14 February 2025 authorises the Executive Director Growth and
Regeneration in consultation with the Committee Member Homes and
Housing Delivery Committee to take all steps required to procure
and award the contract with Great Western Union as outlined in the
report.
