Purpose

To seek approval to lease properties
on the Emergency Accommodation Framework for over 10 years and
beyond the current end of the Emergency Accommodation
Framework.

To provide security of Temporary
Accommodation supply and cost to the council.

 

Content

The Committee RESOLVED (unnanimously)
to:

Authorise the Executive Director for
Housing, in consultation with the Committee Chair for Homes and
Housing Delivery to take all necessary steps to enter into leases
of at least 10 Years plus one day against individual properties
from providers (whether on the EA framework or not), to satisfy the
council’s emergency accommodation demands.
Approve spend as stated in the
exempt appendix, beyond the current expected end date of the EA
Framework and over the remaining term of the leases.
Authorise the Executive Director for
Homes and Housing Delivery, in consultation with the Committee
Chair for Homes and Housing Delivery to approve the full business
case at the Tackling Homelessness Programme Board, confirming
expected spend and any potential ongoing cost reduction.
