Purpose

Bristol City Council Electoral Services
co-ordinated the WECA mayoral election on 1 May 2025. The West of
England Combined Authority funds all the costs of this Mayoral
election including the candidate booklet.

The Combined Authorities (Mayoral Elections) Order 2017 SCHEDULE 5
states that a booklet must be sent to every elector across the
three combined authorities giving details of the candidates
standing for election.
The booklet was planned to arrive prior to postal votes being
received by electors early April 2025.

A decision was made to make a targeted appointment to print the
booklet and a price was agreed. This was under the £500k
threshold.
