Purpose
In 2022 Bristol City Council was successful in
obtaining £6m in grant funding as part of Defra’s Flood
and Coastal Innovation Resilience Programme (FCRIP). This is being
delivered with the Resilient Frome programme of works, which is
looking at new and innovative ways to manage flood risk within the
river Frome catchment via six workstreams:

-Sustainable Drainage Retrofit
-River Enhancement
-Planning Policy
-Innovative Private Funding

This officer decision notice is in relation to the Sustainable
Drainage Retrofit workstream. The project wishes to construct
sustainable drainage systems two Bristol schools (Briarwood Primary
School and Glenfrome SEN School) to improve surface water flooding
at these sites as well as improve amenity and biodiversity at the
schools. We have also secured additional funding (£97,500)
from the DofE Sustainable Drainage Systems in Schools Programme to
deliver the proposed interventions.
