Purpose
To seek approval to implement the roadmap for
establishing a Community Benefit Society to manage the Bristol
Music Fund.
Content
That the Committee
for Economy and Skills:
1. Approves the
implementation of the roadmap to establish a Community Benefit
Society (CBS) to manage the Bristol Music Fund.
2. Authorises the
Executive Director Growth and Regeneration to submit bids for
external funding and related expenditure to support the roadmap,
and to negotiate and agree the terms of any grant agreements.
3. Approves in
principle the Council assuming the role of accountable body for
external funding secured, subject to the Executive Director being
satisfied that the risks of
assuming this role
are effectively mitigated, and the Councils position generally is
protected.
4. Notes that the
funding applications should include budgets for external specialist
advice and support.
5. Receives a
further report once details have been finalised and before the CBS
is established.
6. Notes the
intention to bring a university research partner onboard to support
the project and evaluation.
