Purpose

Effective from 12/10/2020, the Council entered
into a five-year contract with Caridon for priority to nominate
households to one of 196 units of accommodation. This priority
nomination was intended to provide an accommodation option for
individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of
homelessness and in urgent need of housing. This contract is
referred to as ‘phase one’. This contract ceased
11/10/2025 and the Council sought to extend phase one to align with
the end date of phase two, which is 29/03/2026.

To extend the phase one contract to 29 March
2026, matching the end date of the phase two contract.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - The alternative option explored was
not renewing the contract. Not renewing the contract would result
in the loss of nomination rights to 196 properties. Extending the
contract to match the end date of phase two allows for both
contracts to be to be evaluated and reviewed together ahead of a
decision on whether to renew. This notice is not a decision to
renew the nomination contract beyond 29/03/2026, that will be
subject to a separate decision pathway.
