Purpose

To seek approval to increase Bristol City
Council’s funding contribution for the Habilitation Service
to meet current the projected demand for the 2-year extension
period (1st April 2026 – 31st March 2028)

The Committee RESOLVED: 
UNANIMOUSLY
 
 

To approve the increase in funding for the Habilitation service to pay for the level of
support we are currently receiving (6 days).  The cost to Bristol would be an additional
£70,408.80 over the 2-year extension period. This equates to
a total spend of £67,056 per year (£31,851.60 current
funding; £35,204.40 additional funding), with a total spend
of £134,112 over the 2-year extension period
(£63,703.20 current funding; £70,408.80 additional
funding).

 

To authorise the Executive Director Children & Education in
consultation with the Chair of the Children & Young People
Committee to take all steps required to vary the Habilitation service contract, in-line with the
procurement routes and maximum budget envelopes outlined in this
report.
