Purpose

Bristol City Council is working with the
Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to develop a Heat
Network Zone for central Bristol. This grant funding is to support
that work.

Content

To accept a grant from the Heat Networks
Delivery Unit, UK Government to support the designation of a Heat
Network Zone in central Bristol and the design of the Heat Network
Zoning Body to manage the zone.

Alternative options considered

Bristol City Council is part of the Advanced
Heat Network Pilot Project. The alternative to accepting this grant
to as part of the project would be to either continue with the
project at the council’s expense or to cease participation in
this important initiative.
