Purpose

1.     
To inform the committee of the contribution which the council has
made to tackling climate change through its delivery of the Bristol
City Council Climate Emergency Action Plan 2022-25. 

To seek approval for the updated
Climate Emergency Action Plan 2026 – 2028 to continue
reducing emissions and improving the resilience of the city.

It was RESOLVED that the
Committee for Environment & Sustainability:
 

1.     
Noted the progress that has been made in the
delivery of the Bristol City Council Climate Emergency Action Plan
2022-25 and the related reductions in council and city emissions of
climate changing greenhouse gases.

(8 FOR, 1 ABSTAIN, 0 AGAINST)
Approved the adoption and publication of the Bristol
City Council Climate Emergency Action Plan 2026-28 to accelerate
emissions reduction and improve the resilience of the city whilst
delivering local jobs, lower energy bills and cleaner
air.
