Purpose
To seek approval to accept and spend
authorised capital funding for various harbour capital projects
outlined in the report.
Content
That the Harbour Committee (unanimous vote in
favour):
1.
Approves the request to spend £900,000 to repair the defects
found with Cascade Steps Landing Stage and Viewing Platform,
allowing it to continued unrestricted use by the ferry operators
and public.
2.
Approves the request to spend £1,350,000 to repair the
defects found with Pero’s Bridge, allowing it to be brought
back into full, unrestricted use by the public.

a.
Approves the request to accept a further £1,290,000 Grant In
Aid funding from the Environment Agency and spend the funding to
repair Underfall Yard Sluice Gates and install a replacement
harbour control system.
b.
Approve £900,000 BCC funding to carry out repairs to the
culverts at Underfall Yard, the scope of which will be identified
by the imminent dive inspections. In the event not all funds are
required, the surplus will be returned.
4.
Approves the request to spend £600,000 to repair and reseat
the gates at Netham Lock.
5.
Approves the request to spend £580,000 to carry out
inspections and repairs to Harbour Entrance Lock Gates to enable
safe operation until Avon Riverside 2100 Strategy delivers a
replacement solution.
6.
Approves the request to spend £225,000 to repair Prince
Street Bridge.
7.
Approves the request to spend £1,800,000 on a Harbour
Structural Assessment Inspection to determine structures requiring
essential repair/maintenance.
8.
Authorises the Executive Director Growth and Regeneration in
consultation with Chair of the Harbour Committee to procure and
award contracts required for the projects described above, in line
with the procurement routes and maximum budget envelopes outlined
in this report.
9.
Authorises the Executive Director Growth and Regeneration in
consultation with Chair of the Harbour Committee to invoke any
subsequent extensions/variations specifically defined in the
contract(s) being awarded, up to the maximum budget envelope
outlined in this report.
