Purpose
The purpose of the disposal is to enable the
redevelopment of the adjoining property known as Waverley House,
Crow Lane, City Centre, Bristol, BS1 1WH. The proposed works to the
land will improve the public realm and include the provision of an
Accessible Car Parking Space. No works are being undertaken to the
existing trees on site and measures will be undertaken to protect
these trees. Detailed design proposals can be found under the
Planning ref: 24/03137/F on Bristol City Councils Planning Portal.
The land is considered public open space. A Public Open Spaces

received.
Content
Pursuant to delegated powers authorised by
Policy Committee Chairs Briefing (PCCB) on 15 April 2025 relating
to the disposal of land to enable the delivery of the adjoining
property development. Authorisation was given to dispose of the
land for best consideration. A Red Book valuation by an external
RICS Registered Valuer for the purposes of s.123 of the Local
Government Act 1972 confirms the disposal price as ‘best
consideration’.
Alternative options considered
The Council considered leasing the land to the
adjoining owner. Financial terms received for selling the freehold
interest provided best consideration when compared to leasing the
land.
