Purpose
This decision follows the Cabinet approvals in
March 2024 which saw the Outline Business Case for the project
approved and delegated approvals granted to the Growth and
Regeneration Executive Director for taking all steps required to
produce the Full Business Case including spend up to
£850,000. This funding amount is being updated at the July
Committee.
This decision also follows the cabinet decision on Tuesday, 5th
October, 2021 which approved “the receipt and expenditure of
funding to deliver the development and submission to WECA of
Business Cases for each project within the Strategic Corridors
Programme, of up to £3.5m” including £600k for
the A4 Portway Strategic Corridor, these approvals were later
updated at the May 2023 Cabinet.
This project is key to Bristol City Council’s aims of
delivering the Strategic Corridors programme, and Mass Transit. The
Full Business Case and detailed designs are critical tasks to be
completed to secure the funding to deliver the scheme and capture
its benefits.
