Purpose
Adult social care has an obligation under The
Care Act (2014) to provide independent advocacy services to
citizens to enable and empower them to express their views relating
to the services provided to them. Bristol City Council currently
commissions 3 organisations to provide a range of advocacy services
to meet these obligations. The current contracts are due to expire
on 31/10/24.. Following a public consultation and appropriate
procurement advice, we wish to commission a new service from
01/11/24 via an Open Tender process from our Adult Social Care
Single Framework (Lot 8 Advocacy Services) to ensure compliance,
demonstrate good value for money and continue to meet our statutory
duties.
