Purpose

Bristol City Council wishes to commission the
maintenance, servicing, and repairs to Canford Crematoria.
The apparatus within the Crematoria which has been manufactured and
installed by a sole supplier, (namely, Matthews Environmental Ltd)
which includes the Cremators, Gas and Particles Analysers for
emissions and the components within the apparatus, such as sensors,
probes, pumps and related ICT hardware/software require servicing
and maintenance.
The servicing and repair are carried out on a quarterly basis with
specialist engineers attending from the manufacturer of the
equipment (Matthews Environmental Ltd). This is done to ensure that
the equipment is operating to manufacturers process, practices, and
technical guidelines to ensure both efficiency of the equipment and
mitigate any breakdowns.

Environmental Ltd for servicing, maintenance, and repairs to
existing specialist equipment at Canford Crematoria.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - Alternative options were not
considered because the servicing, maintenance and repairs are for
existing specialist equipment and to use an alternative supplier
would not be reasonable because Matthews Environmental Ltd are the
only manufacturer of the equipment installed at Canford Crematoria
and retain sole access to the software and technical data required
to service, maintain, and repair the equipment.
