Purpose

Passing responsibility for management of the
Lord Mayor’s Chapel to Bristol Cathedral will lead to a
recurring saving and improved access to the building, without
impact on the current congregation or existing events that take
place.

Content

That the management of the Lord Mayor’s
Chapel be transferred to Bristol Cathedral with effect from 8th
November 24 for 35 years on a peppercorn rent with a repairing
lease. This will be after transfer of £210k as a grant
payment to the Cathedral, which is in order for the Cathedral to
carry out essential repairs and maintenance (as defined in the
lease).
