Purpose

The Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets out the
ambition that Buckinghamshire Council and key partner organisations
have to improve health and wellbeing in the county. The new
strategy has been agreed by the Buckinghamshire Health and
Wellbeing Board and is now coming to the Council’s cabinet
for endorsement.

Content

The Health and Wellbeing
Strategy set out what the Health and Wellbeing Board and its
partners would do to improve the health and wellbeing of
Buckinghamshire residents and reduce health inequalities across the
county over the next 10 years. The strategy builds on the success
of the Health and Wellbeing Board’s previous (2022-25)
Happier Healthier Lives Strategy.
 
The vision of the Health and
Wellbeing Strategy was to help people live healthier and more independent
lives. The overall aim of the strategy was to:

reduce health inequalities
·      
improve population health
·      
ensure the sustainability of services.
 
This would be achieved through
delivering improvements across all ages and all aspects of health
and wellbeing including physical, mental, social and the building
blocks of health that drive so much of our health and
wellbeing.
 
It would be delivered through
action plans covering the following four themes of; Start Well,
Live Well, Age Well and Principles with a focus in all themes of;
empowering communities, prevention and proactive care.
 
RESOLVED that the new Buckinghamshire Health and Wellbeing
Strategy be endorsed.
