Purpose

To note the revised Skills and Employment Strategy.

Decision

The revised Buckinghamshire Skills and Employment Strategy set out a place-based approach to skills and employment across the county. Developed collaboratively by the Skills Strategy Board with Buckinghamshire employers, Sector Leads, Education providers, BBF, DWP and the Council, it reflected a shared commitment to an ambitious, joined-up and inclusive skills and employment system.

It was aligned with the Buckinghamshire Economic Growth Plan, Local Skills and Improvement Plan (LSIP); Buckinghamshire Works and national policy, ensuring that skills investment responded directly to local economic need and community priorities.

The Strategy provided a coherent framework to inform commissioning, investment and delivery decisions across skills and employment, ensuring activity was evidence led, employer informed and aligned with Buckinghamshire’s economic growth priorities.  The Strategy had been approved by the Growth Board.

RESOLVED that the revised Buckinghamshire Skills and Employment Strategy, which sets out a place-based strategic framework for skills and employment and which aligns with and supports the delivery of the Buckinghamshire Growth Plan, be endorsed.
