The Cabinet Decision
“Council investment in Gigg Lane Stadium” made on 13
July 2022, recommended that Cabinet commit £450k of funding
to Bury Football Club Company Limited for the purposes of
installing a 3G artificial pitch at Gigg Lane stadium with a view
to securing benefits for Bury FC and for the wider
community.
 
However, Bury Football Club
(2019) Limited is the entity which will enter into the community
engagement plan with the Council for the life of the 3G pitch, and
it is Bury Football Club (2019) Limited which has entered into the
works contract for the 3G pitch and thus is responsible for the use
of the grant.
 
The grant should therefore be
paid to Bury Football Club (2019) Limited to provide the greatest
protection for the Council.
