Reasons for the decision

The authority’s Statement of Licensing
Policy was adopted in 2020. It is a statutory requirement to revise
the document every 5 years.
The document has been updated with grammatical changes and
additional information for applicants and licence holders. There is
also a new section on women’s safety.

Consultation is a statutory requirement.
Seeking adoption without consultation will place the authority at
significant risk of legal challenge.
