To award a contract for the production, supply
and delivery of summer and spring bedding plants, hanging baskets
and troughs to Boverton Nurseries for £135,040.98 over three
years.

Reasons for the decision

To enable the council to provide seasonal
plant displays throughout the town in spring and summer it is
necessary to enter into a contract with a commercial grower to
produce and deliver the required plants.  A procurement exercise has taken place and
following receipt of three bids, Boverton Nurseries was
selected.  This decision notice provides
the relevant authority to enter in the relevant contract with
Cheltenham Borough Council.

Alternative options considered

Produce the plants in-house.  The council has decommissioned its nursery and no
longer has the skills or resources to undertake this.
