That the proposed response to the Forest of
Dean District Council Draft Local Plan (Regulation 18) be formally
submitted to the Forest of Dean District Council

Reasons for the decision

The Forest of Dean District Council are in the
preliminary stages (Regulation 18) of developing a new Local Plan,
which will guide and control development in their District up to
2041. The Forest of Dean District Council have consulted Cheltenham
Borough, Gloucester City and Tewkesbury Borough Councils, who are
jointly working on the Strategic and Local Plan (SLP). The SLP
authorities have therefore worked together to provide a
co-ordinated response to the Forest of Dean District
Council.

Alternative options considered

Do not respond to the consultation. However,
it is considered that the Authority would therefore miss the
opportunity to potentially influence the next stage of the Forest
of Dean’s plan-making process.
