residents to the Cabinet Housing Committee:

Reasons for the decision

On 17 October 2023 Cabinet agreed to commence the transition of
housing services from Cheltenham Borough Homes back into Cheltenham
Borough Council.

At its meeting on 17 June 2024, Cabinet approved the governance
arrangements (to come into effect on 1 July 2024) to reflect the
assimilation of housing services. This included the establishment
of a Cabinet Housing Committee, the membership of which comprises
five elected councillors (to include the Cabinet Member with
responsibility for Housing), four co-opted residents from the
Council’s housing stock, consisting of two tenants, one
leaseholder and one shared ownership representative. At its meeting
on 17 June Council subsequently approved changes to the
constitution.

The Leader took the
decision to appoint five councillors (Councillors Clucas,
Foster, Pineger, Tooke and Williams) on 24 June 2024.
