Purpose

The Site is a former care home, day centre,
school and nursery, which has not been operational for a
significant period of time.  Hollins
View, a former care home has subsequently been
demolished.  The former school (which is
locally listed), nursery and day centre are in a very poor state of
repair and condition.
 
The social housing waiting list data for the
Macclesfield area has identified a housing need for a large number
of applicants. Few properties became available during 2024, which
demonstrates that the need is higher than supply.
 
Due to increasing housing need, the Site was
identified and thus, included within the Housing Development
Framework for disposal.
 
In January 2025, a mini-competition was undertaken to secure a
Framework organisation to develop the Site for a mixed tenure
scheme, with the emphasis being on providing affordable housing
over the percentage specified within planning policy (30%).

To Declare the Former Hollins View, Brocklehurst
Centre, Poolswood Centre, and St
Barnabas School surplus to operational requirements; and
 

2.            
Dispose of the Site via the Framework (via the
procurement processes) to a Developer/ Registered Housing
Provider.
