Deputy Leader

The Deputy Leader of Chesterfield Council can make individual executive decisions on matters delegated to them as outlined in the Council's Constitution. This role involves contributing to overall policy direction, overseeing public service reform, and managing the Council plan and performance. The Deputy Leader also has responsibilities for corporate communications, the revenue budget, medium-term financial plan, capital strategy, treasury management, climate change strategy, and the Chesterfield town centre masterplan. They also lead on internal strategic partnerships and skills and employability initiatives.
