Purpose

To adopt the proposed increase to the current
fees and charges for hackney carriage and private hire licensing
applications following a review of the financial position during
2024/2025 being reported to General Licensing Committee on 5th
March.

Content

RESOLVED
 
1.   
That Cabinet note the forecasted income
deficit position of £23,700 at the end of 2024/ 2025 in
relation to hackney carriage and private hire
licensing.
2.   
That Cabinet supports the proposal from
General Licensing Committee in respect of points (i), (ii) and
(iii) below and approve that a consultation exercise is undertaken
in relation to:

                                 
i.    
 A further
10% increase to the fees and charges previously approved for 2025/
2026 in relation to hackney carriage and private hire licensing as
set out at Appendix 1;

                                
ii.    
Approval of new fees and charges in
relation to hackney carriage and private hire licensing matters as
set out at Appendix 2; and

                              
iii.    
Should representations be received in
connection with the consultation exercise, that these are reported
back to Cabinet and General Licensing Committee for their
consideration.
