Purpose

Cabinet approved £115,000 of ARP monies
to be released for the transformation of Chichester District
Council’s CCTV service. An exception to tender was already in
place for the original quote of £90,000 as there was some
urgency in getting approval for the works so they could be
completed by end of March 2024. Since then it was decided to ask
for 3 additional cameras and 2 re-deployable cameras and a new
quote was submitted for £120,000 for the works to include
5g.  Sussex Police also recently
informed us we were to take on the maintenance and sim contract
which has a total value of around £51,000 for 3 years
(£17k per annum). This now brings the total cost of the
project to £171,00 which is significantly higher than the
exception to tender originally agreed. It should be noted we will
be making an annual saving of around £40,000 going forward as
the previous transmission and maintenance contracts were
£59,000 per annum.
